First Prize
Arcadia Quartet / Romania

Winners of the Wigmore Hall London International String Quartet Competition in 2012, the Almere International Chamber Music Competition in 2011 and the International Chamber Music Competition Hamburg in 2009. The Arcadia Quartet is rapidly establishing itself as one of the most exciting string quartets of their generation. Formed in 2005 while studying at the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy in Romania.

Second Prize
Cavaleri Quartet / UK

The Cavaleri Quartet were first prize winners in the 2012 Hamburg International Chamber Music Competition and ‘Special Prize’ winners at the 2011 Premio Borciani International String Quartet Competition. Recent highlights include the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Schubertiade, Austria, Musikverein, Wigmore Hall, Auditorio Nacional, Madrid, and Rachmaninov Hall, Moscow. Their recording of Mendelssohn and Schnittke was released in 2013 on the Fontenay Classics label.

Third Prize
Wasmuth Quartet / USA

Since their formation in 2013, the Wasmuth Quartet have won numerous awards and performed across the United States and in Europe. They recently received 1st prize at the Kuttner Quartet Competition in Bloomington, Indiana, and won Silver Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Recently, the Wasmuth Quartet performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.; and were named the string quartet in-residence at the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, Germany.

First Prize
Trio Rafale / Switzerland

Since September 2009 the Trio Rafale has been coached by Professor Eckart Heiligers in Zurich. Furthermore, they received valuable artistic input from Bernhard Greenhouse. The Trio obtained numerous awards, including the first prize at the prestigious Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition 2011, the second prize at the Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon 2011.

Second Prize
Notos Quartett / Germany

The Notos Quartett has won prizes at international competitions such as the Parkhouse Award in London, first prize at the Charles-Hennen-Concours in Holland and first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition “Premio Vittorio Gui” in Florence. Masterclasses with members of the Faure-, Mandelring-, Guarneri- and Alban Berg Quartet and the Beaux Arts Trio gave the quartet further musical insight.

Third Prize
Trio Atanassov / France

Trio Atanassov, founded in 2007 in Paris, is a prominent young piano trio from France which won numerous prizes in major international piano trio competitions: first prize at the Commerzbank Competition in Frankfurt, prizewinner at the Trondheim Competition, the Haydn Competition in Vienna, and the Joachim Competition in Weimar among others. Being a member of the European Chamber Music Academy has been decisive in the artistic development of the Trio.

Festa Ensembles consisting of 2-6 performers. The combinations are free.

Menuhin Gold Prize
Das Kleine Wien Trio / Austria

Das Kleine Wien Trio’s repertoire extends from the classical works of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, over the romantic masterpieces to jazz and pop music. The Trio successfully performs in many countries in Europe. In 2011 the Trio has debuted in Viennese Musikverein. Since 2012 Das Kleine Wien Trio is a member of Yehudi Menuhin foundation “Live Music Now”.

Silver Prize
Carion / Denmark

Carion has won prizes at several chamber music competitions, among them the Danish National Radio Chamber Music Competition in 2004. They placed first at the Marco Fiorino International Chamber Music Competition in Turin, Italy in 2006. They injects new life into the woodwind quintet genre and promises an extraordinary concert experience. They makes visible the architecture of both classical and modern compositions through t heir engaged music-making.

Bronze Prize
Percussion Group “O-Gun” /Japan

Formed in 1998, through their wide-raging performance with wild and sensitive tunes, “O-gun” has been praised in various fields. They appear on the stage at numbers of concert halls in Japan and work on various activities such as teaching work with the young musicians, researching, engaging the music therapy, and writing music and leading orchestras. Of special note is their composition and arrangement and they release many free-minded works.

Folkloric Music Special Prize
Trio Paraphrase /Russia

Trio Paraphrase, founded in September 2011, has earned praise from the best masters of Russian Folk Art, such as Alexander Tsygankov, Andrey Gorbachev, Friedrich Lips and others. The Trio toured various concert halls of Russia in Yaroslavl, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad, Sochi and other cities, constantly getting from the audience applauses and standing ovations.
