A new special prize “the Sawallisch Chamber Music Award” was established for 12th Osaka International Chamber Music Competition held in May 2026 under the generous support of Wolfgang Sawallisch Foundation and Karl Amadeus Hartmann-Society/Hartmann-Center.

The award is presented to one ensemble selected from among the ensembles participating in Section I. The award-winning ensemble will be invited to concerts or masterclasses operated by Wolfgang Sawallisch Foundation (Grassau, Germany) and Karl Amadeus Hartmann-Center (Munich, Germany) in 2028.

Following deliberations by Monika Henschel, Chairperson of the Jury, and Andreas Hérm Baumgartner, the chairperson of the Wolfgang Sawallisch Foundation, it was decided that the Sawallisch Chamber Music Award would be presented to Quartet Kairi (Austria).

2026年5月に開催した第12回大阪国際室内楽コンクールに、ウォルフガング・サヴァリッシュ財団とカール・アマデウス・ハルトマン協会/ハルトマン・センターの協力により、新たな特別賞“サヴァリッシュ室内楽賞（Sawallisch Chamber Music Award）“が設けられることとなりました。 
この賞は、第1部門（弦楽四重奏）に出場したアンサンブルの中から1団体に授与されます。受賞アンサンブルは、ウォルフガング・サヴァリッシュ財団（グラッソー、ドイツ）とカール・アマデウス・ハルトマン・センター（ミュンヘン、ドイツ）が運営する、2028年のコンサートやマスタークラスに参加します。
モニカ・ヘンシェル審査委員長と、ヴォルフガング・サヴァリッシュ財団のアンドレアス・ヘルム・バウムガルトナー理事長の審議により、同賞はクァルテット浬（オーストリア）に授与されることが決定しました。
